EXCOM Education Privacy Policy Statement
Privacy Amendment (Privacy Sector) Act 2000
We at EXCOM Education are committed to providing all who deal with us with the highest levels of service possible. We do collect some personal information, and this statement explains how we collect, store and use this information.
From 31st March 2002, we are bound by the provisions of the Privacy Amendment (Private Sector) Act 2000, which sets out a number of principles concerning the protection of personal information.
Collection of Information
EXCOM collects information in a number of ways, including
- Directly from you via phone or from your registration for classes or seminars
- Directly from you during classes
- By mail in a written training registration form
- Electronically by secure website or faxed inquiry and registration forms
Information Collected
We would normally collect the following information:
- Name and address
- Email address
- Telephone and fax numbers
- Business title - when applicable
- Employing Organisation name, address, telephone number, email & web addresses
- T-shirt size - when applicable
- Preference of meal type - when applicable
- Credit Card and Bank Account details
All this information is collected to allow us to give you the high level of service we aim to deliver.
Use of Information
The personal information collected will be used in order to:
- Administer and manage your training with us
- Mail to you (mainly via email) news of special offers, industry updates and events
- Mail to you or your employer news relating to specific appropriate information
- Provide information to our professional advisers, including Auditors and Lawyers, to the extent necessary for them to carry out their legal requirements
- Provide information to Government and regulatory authorities and other organisations, as required by law
Personal information relating to you is never made available to anyone, either within or outside EXCOM, except as required by law.
Storage of Information
Information is stored in compliance with current legislation but mainly in electronic form. All reasonable steps will be taken to ensure that the information is kept secure and that access is restricted to the person it relates to and those who require access in the course of their duties. Where information is required to be transferred to a third party every effort will be made to ensure that the third party complies with National Privacy Principles or your consent has been obtained.
Security of Information
EXCOM takes all reasonable precautions to protect sensitive information relating to you, both online and offline.
Access to Information
You are welcome to access the personal information we hold and we encourage you to correct the information where you find it to be inaccurate. Further, the information will be removed if you so request and its removal does not affect any legal requirements.
